“This is a strategic move that positions us for further growth," says Phil Klassen, President and CEO of Canterris. “The Waterloo Region is Canada’s most dynamic technology hub, with three world-class universities that produce some of the best computer science and engineering graduates in Canada. Having an office there allows us to tap an impressive pool of talent that understands software development and the requirements of On-Demand Marketing solutions, which will accelerate our product and business development efforts.”

Canterris’ head office will remain in Calgary, as will a number of development, marketing and finance staff. As the company begins hiring in the Waterloo Region, it will shift development of certain products and services to the Waterloo Region office along with key sales and business development functions.

“When Canterris contacted us about possible expansion from Calgary, we immediately plugged them into the IT community including Communitech, the universities, Conestoga College, the Chambers of Commerce and venture capitalists,” says Bill Elliot, Director of Business Development with Canada’s Technology Triangle Inc.

“We are pleased Canterris has chosen the Waterloo Region as the place to develop their state-of-the-art marketing software solutions, and look forward to working with our municipal partners to continue to assist them as they begin doing business here.”

Canterris has taken temporary office space in the Regus Business Centre in downtown Kitchener. “We have been approached by a number of venture capitalists since we located here,” notes Klassen. “Our experience with the Region so far is an example of the welcoming environment that exists for those companies on the leading edge of technology.”
